The Power of Acupuncture for all Phases of Women’s Health
My Mother taught me the power of skilled and caring touch.
In the 1970’s my mother, Audrey Inez Sheehan, RN, took a class in Acupressure. The next time I had the very severe menstrual cramps that were the norm for me, she treated points on my feet. My periods were less painful from that time forward. This experience set me on my life’s course of exploring how powerful acupressure, acupuncture, and related therapies (ART) can be and to find ways to share that with the world. Making these therapies available to all who can benefit from them is why we created AHA as a nonprofit.
I have experienced the power of this healing system for all phases of women’s health; beginning menstruation, regulating dysfunctional periods, promoting fertility, recovering from childbirth, and easing the symptoms of menopause. ART works by regulating our hormonal, nervous, digestive and immune functions, and so can treat many different conditions for women and men.
As we celebrate mothers and those who share maternal energy in many ways, I am grateful to my mother and all those who helped nurture AHA into existence.
Happy Mother’s Day to All,
